Also speaking, Mr. EffiongUdo, the Uruan Chapter Chairman of APC, stressed that there is no road linking southern Uruan with the northern part of the local government, calling on the APC

By UbongAbasi Ise The Ikono State Constituency representative, Mr. Victor Udofia, believes his constituency is unfairly treated by the present state government as it only gained 3.8 kilometers of roads under the tenure of Mr. Udom Emmanuel. Mr. Udofia, who received the All Progressives Congress, APC, when the party’s campaign team touched down on Ibiaku Ntok Okpo weekend said despite given Udom Emmanuel over 38,000 votes in 2015, his local government is losing out in the sharing of the democratic dividends, but lauded Obong Nsima Ekere for providing Ikono with over 18 kilometers of roads. “As I speak to you, I stand on good authority, Udom Emmanuel as governor, with the entire budget of the state only give 3.8 km of road in Ikono for 3 ½ years,” he stated. Senator Akpabio said the owner of the controversial rice mill is Mr. Ini Utuk, his close relative. When the gubernatorial campaign train of the All Progressives Congress berthed at Odoro Ikpe in Ini local government area weekend, the former governor shocked the gathering as he made some startling revelations about his successor’s industrialization drive. “In the whole of Ini, Akwa Ibom State government does not have a rice mill. The small rice mill that is being constructed there is owned by my brother, Ini Utuk, he is in a private concern. If it is working at all, I’ve not been there. It is not owned by Akwa Ibom State government. Don’t let anybody to come here and deceive you,” he said. Senator Godswill Akpabio disclosed that Akwa

Onofiok, The Boy Akpabio Raised To Man

By UbongAbasi Ise At Odoro Ikpe in Ini local government area, precisely on Saturday 26 th January, 2019, Senator Godswill Akpabio was quoting the Book of Proverbs chapter 17 verse 13 which says, “Whoever rewards evil for good, evil will not depart from his house.” He was stressing how he turned over 500 boys into men in Akwa Ibom, some of whom are turning back to fight him. But there is more to Akpabio’s regrets. It is high time we pause our varied-ranging political interests and sentiments just for a moment, and then take a second look on the candidates filing out before us as the elections approach round the corner.   Given in to superficial affability and populist impression of these political wheeler-dealers could prove cataclysmic to the polity, especially, at a time like this when we seek to undo the years the cankerworm had ravaged. Let us first look out for those with palpable trait of betrayal of trust and ingratitude because a politician who bites the finger of hi

By UbongAbasi Ise The duo of Senator Godswill Akpabio and Obong Nsima Ekere were moved with sympathy as the 5,000 secondary school teachers allegedly sacked by Governor Udom Emmanuel recounted their misfortunes in the hands of the incumbent state government. Mr. Sunday Akpan, who led the embattled teachers as they stormed Uyo Township Stadium Monday to officially declare their decampment from the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC, lamented that some of the 5000 teachers have died, many have psychologically been traumatized as the result of the unwarranted sack, while a handful of others have moved out of the state to look for alternative means of survival.   Mr. Akpan further noted that the National Industrial Court has been approached for redress, but bemoaned how Mr. Udom Emmanuel uses taxpayers’ money to battle them in court, saying Udom Emmanuel-led government has failed the state while expressing hope in Obong Nsima Ekere as the man wh
