By UbongAbasi Ise Mr. Iboro Otu, the gubernatorial candidate of the Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party, ANRP, who is from Akwa Ibom Northwest (Ikot Ekpene) Senatorial District, has justified his involvement in the just concluded election, condemning the rotational zoning of governorship position in the state base on geo-political formations. Ezekiel Nyaetok, who is also from Ikot Ekpene senatorial district, Mr. Otu said zoning of offices is only a policy adopted internally by certain political parties, noting that his own party, ANRP, including his counterpart’s YDP, have not observed such political arrangement, hence, their contestation in this year’s gubernatorial race. It would be recalled that since 1999 when democracy returned after military junta, the governorship position in Akwa Ibom State appears to be u

Arc. Nyaetok, who jointly addressed a world press conference recently in Uyo with the gubernatorial candidate of the Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party (ANRP), Mr. Iboro Otu, said it was his personal decision not to belabour himself with post-election squabbles but to owe his allegiance to anyone sworn in as the governor of the state. Sold Conscience

Image
By UbongAbasi Ise After March 9 polls in Akwa Ibom where vote-stealing trickeries, wanton violence and bloodletting were shamelessly displayed in broad daylight before our children, our women and fellow church members, some band of political wayfarers came out with misleading group appellations to ridicule our saneness with tales of how the crooked, barbaric elections of the savages of the 21st century were credible and more civilized, devoid of blemish. This was sarcasm in its extremes. They forget that the people are wise enough to discern that such yarns were spun in their frantic struggle to cover up the skeletons in the closets of their paymasters. The politicians, electorates, umpires, security agents, observers, political agents, and the common masses, all knew what happened in those elections. No matter how wide the palms may be, they cannot cover up the skies. The first of these jobbers were the Akwa Ibom State Chapter of Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC). This gro

By UbongAbasi Ise The lawmaker representing Akwa Ibom Northwest (Ikot Ekpene) Senatorial District, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has spoken on certain malpractices he personally observed during March 9 polls in Akwa Ibom State, bringing up some instances as he questioned the credibility of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state, under the watch of Mr. Mike Igini, the Akwa Ibom Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC. Senator Akpabio, while interacting with newsmen on Monday, said he was not surprised about the outcome of Saturday’s election as long as the umpire in the state showed in all circumstances, that he was not prepared to superintend over justice as far as the 2019 general elections are concerned. He maintained that his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, won at the polling units, but lost at the collation centres. The former senate minority leader noted that the result of his polling unit was cancelled by INEC under inexplicable circumstan
