  By our Correspondent Residents living close to a newly built FM radio station located at Shelter Afrique Estate, Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, this morning, escaped death by the whiskers as the station's re-erected transmission mast collapsed again. The mast, which was reconstructed in defiance to a court action fell following a mild downpour. Our correspondent gathered that the new station is allegedly built and owned by Mr. Friday Ben, a.k.a. Dollie Popman, who is also the Special Assistant on Protocol to the state governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel. Inhabitants of the adjourning area who spoke to our correspondent said the owner of the fallen Mixx Radio 88.7FM transmission mast, Friday Ben, used his position as governor's aide to influence the siting of the station against environmental regulations which prohibit building of such high-rising mast in a densely populated residential estate.   It was learnt that following an earlier partial collapse of the same mast on the 7t

  By Uforo John The lingering crisis in the Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, indicated an alarming dimension last week, when its Ward Chairmen embarked on a protest to press on for their demands. Ezekiel Nyaetok, has opened up on his political stance ahead of 2023 general elections as he announced his movement to the African Democratic Congress, ADC.                 Nyaetok, who contested on the platform of the Young Democratic Party, YDP, in the 2019 gubernatorial elections, told newsmen during Social Governance Ideology Seed Fund Interview in Uyo today that he has made up his mind to continue his political vocation with the ADC.   He said he decided to join a party whose approach to leadership is in line with social governance ideology. “I decide to join a party that amended its constitution to align with social governance. African Democratic Congress is concerned about development at the grassroots,” he said. In a testimony before the panel, Rebecca's mother, Madam Hassan on Wednesday 9th December 2020, had said Paul Bassey, who was of the rank of Corporeal at the time, impregnated Miss Rebecca after repeatedly having sex with her with a promise that he would facilitate her release from the police custody.
