Ini Utuk Is The Owner Of Ini Rice Mill – Akpabio Reveals … As Governorship Candidate, Gloria Edet Ward, Councilor Joins For APC
By UbongAbasi Ise
Lawmaker representing Akwa
Ibom Northwest District, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has revealed the identity of
the real owner of Agricon Rice Mill recently inaugurated by Governor Udom
Emmanuel in Ini local government area.
Senator Akpabio said the owner
of the controversial rice mill is Mr. Ini Utuk, his close relative.
When the gubernatorial
campaign train of the All Progressives Congress berthed at Odoro Ikpe in Ini
local government area weekend, the former governor shocked the gathering as he
made some startling revelations about his successor’s industrialization drive.
“In the whole of Ini, Akwa
Ibom State government does not have a rice mill. The small rice mill that is
being constructed there is owned by my brother, Ini Utuk, he is in a private
concern. If it is working at all, I’ve not been there. It is not owned by Akwa
Ibom State government. Don’t let anybody to come here and deceive you,” he
said.
Senator Godswill Akpabio
disclosed that Akwa Ibom State Government has no share in the Fertilizer
Blending Plant in Abak, which is owned by Johnny Udo, and added that what he
found on the day of inauguration at the plant was a cement mixer.
“Is it the fertilizer blending
plant that I went? I saw a cement mixer, and that one is owned by one man
called Johny Udo from US. His company is called Greenwell. Akwa Ibom State
Government guaranteed him a loan and the Central bank gave him N5 billion.
Government does not have one naira share. That means that you have no share
there,” Akpabio stressed.
The former state governor said
he his government bought the site of the fertilizer plant from late Ime Sampson
Umana and further regretted how he was invited there by the state government to
commission the project.
At Ini rally, a serving councilor, Mr Aniefiok Offiong, who
is representing Ikpe Ward 2, the ward of the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr.
(Mrs.) Gloria Edet, in Ini local government council, led hundreds of supporters
from the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, to the APC.
Besides the commissioner coming from the ward, Ikpe 2 also
produces the chapter chairman of Ini PDP, including about six Special Assistants
to the incumbent state governor, our correspondent gathered.
It was another thrilling moment at Odoro Ikpe as the
governorship candidate of All Grand Alliance Party, AGAP, declared membership
for the APC and surrendered his 15,000 supporters for Obong Nsima Ekere.
At Ikono local government area where the campaign train
also called, over 500 PDP members was led by Mr. Godwin Asuquo Enang, a.k.a.
Ghadafi to the APC.
