Annang Culture Must Not Die! – Nto Annang Ujai Annang 2019 Wins Brand New Car


The Nto Annang Foundation has assured not to rest on its oars in its efforts to ensure the Annang Culture and tradition does not go into extinction, it is appreciated and made to have global acceptance.
The National President of Nto Annang Foundation, Abom Ephraim Okon made this known on Saturday while presenting a brand new car to the winner of Nto Annang pageant Queendalene Dennis Akpakpan, a Medical Student at the University of Calabar.
Cash gifts were also presented to the winner, 1st, 2nd runners up and the winner of the Essay Competition for Secondary Schools, Precious Ituen, a Student of St. Columbanus secondary School, Ikwen, Obot Akara Local Government Area.
“Our vision is to ensure Annang language and tradition does not die. We are not partisan. All we are doing is to take this very valuable culture to the outside world, so that we can properly have our place in the global map” he explained.
Abom Okon added that in the second year of organizing essay competition among secondary school students and pageants which highlight the beauty of the Annang language and culture, a lot of people are beginning to know more about the Annang people, their rich history and beautiful heritage”.
The National President said through the Annang Festival of Arts and Culture (AFAC) Annang heritage will receive wider publicity, the owners of the language and culture will appreciate it even more and people from other lands will also learn more about Annang people and how to benefit from a mutual relationship.
AFAC project consultant, Mr. Joseph Utin expressed happiness that the dream of Abom Ephraim Okon to revive Annang language and tradition is being realized.
He said already AFAC has made inroads into the Tourism nap of the world having being recognized by National Council for Arts and Culture, Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation and the Government of Equador.

According to him AFAC calendars and other public relations materials now adorn government offices and embassies in Nigeria saying this is a sure step to making the Annang race known to the entire world.
Mr. Utin maintained that the efforts of Nto Annang will attract government attention to developing the tourism potentials in Annang land with a view to making them tourist attraction for income generation and preservation of Annang culture.
A member of the Exco of Nto Annang justice Gabriel Ette, said the pageant is to showcase the natural beauty, prowess and brains of an Annang woman.
According to him, Annang women are a special breed and the pageant is to point out their special qualities of industry and capacity to support the men folk to achieve goals. He said this will make growing girls to become aware of the thinking of the forefathers of Annang land and stick to virtuous life styles.
Precious Ituen a student of St. Columbanus Secondary School, Ikwen thanked Nto Annang for the opportunity to learn more about Annang tradition and for students to explore their writing potentials.
High point of the event was the presentation of a brand new car to the winner of the Pageant, Quendalene Dennis Akpakpan, cash gifts were also presented to the first runner up, Ufok Paul Ibara and 2nd runner up Hossana Jessie.
