APC Campaign: Victor Antai Unites All Fronts In Oro Nation For Ekere
At all the venues in Oron, Urue
Offong/Oruko and Okobo local government areas where the All Progressives
Congress, APC, campaigned on Wednesday, the former Commissioner for Cultural
and Tourism, Mr. Victor Antai, was an inspiring force that spurred Oro nation
for the support of Obong Nsima Ekere and the APC.
Antai, the flag-bearer of the All
Progressives Congress in the Oron Federal Constituency election, charged his
constituents to go all out in support of Obong Nsima Ekere in the forthcoming
gubernatorial race, describing the former deputy governor as a dynamic man that
is needed in every situation.
It was all excitement when Mr.
Antai, popularly known as ATM, stole the show, charging his kinsmen in Oro
dialect, with associating cultural dance steps and displays, a rendition that
sent his audience begging for more.
The mammoth crowd also got into wild
jubilation when Dr. Amadu Atai, the Obong Nsima Ekere’s running mate, broke in
Oro dialect, saying he is “the son of the soil,” while charging the people to
vote for the APC all the way.
The APC governorship flag-bearer,
Obong Nsima Ekere, also amused the crowd. He said is part of Oro nation as ‘Eyo
Abasi’ in Oro language also means Ikot Abasi, interpreted as the people of God.
He promised to embark on Ibom
Deep Seaport project and complete it should Oro nation joins in electing him
into office.
The former NDDC boss said he will
also develop the industrial city project to work side-by-side with the seaport
to serve as the hub of industries and commercial activities.
He further stressed that why
Maritime Academy is not given the status of a full degree-awarding institution
is because of lackadaisical attitude of the incumbent state governor, Mr. Udom
Emmanuel. He said the wish of transforming the academy into university could be
possible if the state chief executive is proactive.
