Udom's In-Law Joins APC …Says I Will Rather Identify With A Good Friend Than A Bad Inlaw

A former Presidential Adviser to former President Shehu Shagari, Engr. Felix Sampson Udo Idiong has said that he would rather identify with a good friend than a bad in-law. 

Engr. Idiong who is a father-in-law to Governor Udom Emmanuel stated this on Saturday at the Ibom International Airport while receiving Sen. Godswill Akpabio who returned to the State from Abuja. 
Engr. Idiong who had since defected from Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to All Progressives Congress, APC, described Sen. Akpabio as a good friend and brother. He said that the senator representing Ikot Ekpene Senatorial district has been able to touch the lives of Akwa Ibom people positively, right from the time that he was governor of the State, thus, the reason he has chosen to identify with him rather than the one that does not care about even his inlaws. 
Others who spoke were Mr Ikponke Peter Utu, Mr Uduak Obonokut, Mr Friday Ifot and Imo Ido, PDP ward vice chairman, financial secretary, publicity secretary and woman leader, respectively.
Prophetess Comfort Udoidung, a PDP chapter officer in neighbouring Ika local government area and former councillor also used the occasion to declare for the APC.
Receiving the ward officials, Hon Ekon who is the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Local Content, said the PDP was dead in Etim Ekpo and Akwa Ibom and "no amount of oxygen can resuscitate PDP."
He thanked Etim Ekpo people for massively joining the APC in order to benefit from the incoming APC State Government of Obong Nsima Ekere and to avoid opposition politics.
The lawmaker dismissed Governor Udom Emmanuel's claim that Akwa Ibom was the most peaceful state in Nigeria and that he had restored peace to Etim Ekpo.
"Akwa Ibom State has never seen this kind of crisis since the state was created. There has never been this kind of total breakdown of law and order as we see in Etim Ekpo. Nine communities in Utit Annang and Obong clans in Etim Ekpo are totally displaced. And a Governor has gone on national television and said he has restored peace. Which peace? The theme of their campaign is Only God. Only God can save a Governor like Udom Emmanuel that has presided over a state with over 400 people killed in Etim Ekpo and he did nothing but later claimed to have brought fake peace. Only God can save a Governor that witnessed the death of over 200 people in Reigners Bible Church collapse and claimed that only 32 persons died.
"It is Only God that can save a Governor that claimed for three years that there was no money for the people of Akwa Ibom State but is now carrying money to beg some people for support. Udom has not done well," he said.
He said that the defection of Senator Godswill Akpabio to the APC has forced the Governor to open the state treasury to all manner of people.
Etim Ekpo PDP has lost many stalwarts in recent months including Hon Ekon, Prince Udom Ekpoudom, retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Barr Chris Okorie, Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Electoral Matters and Mr Mfon Udonsek, former Etim Ekpo PDP chapter chairman.
