2023: Nyaetok Lands In ADC, Declares War On APC, PDP
By UbongAbasi Ise
Former governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom State, Arc. Ezekiel Nyaetok, has opened up on his political stance ahead of 2023 general elections as he announced his movement to the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
Nyaetok, who contested on the platform of the Young Democratic Party, YDP, in the 2019 gubernatorial elections, told newsmen during Social Governance Ideology Seed Fund Interview in Uyo today that he has made up his mind to continue his political vocation with the ADC.
He said he decided to join a party whose approach to leadership is in line with social governance ideology.
“I decide to join a party that amended its constitution to align with social governance. African Democratic Congress is concerned about development at the grassroots,” he said.
It would be recalled that his erstwhile party, YDP, was among the 74 political parties reportedly deregistered on February 6, 2020 by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Arc. Ezekiel Nyaetok disclosed that he has urged members of the defunct YDP to discontinue litigation and chart a new way forward.
Nyaetok earlier took a swipe at the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the Peoples Democratic, PDP, saying both political parties are owned by merchants that are in government for their own gains, saying “I don’t know what could take me to PDP and APC.”
He vowed to involve deeply in determining the 2023 electoral outcomes, declaring that he would ensure what happened in the past would not be repeated again.
According to him, if the prevailing situation is ignored, lives would continue to go down the hill, pointing that with social governance, massive development could take place in Akwa Ibom State if about 368 wards are adopted as centres of development.
Speaking on Novone Garden Housing Estate which situates in Uyo, Arc. Ezekiel Nyaetok said the housing project is under the public-private partnership (PPP) between the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Novone Consult Limited where he is principal partner.
He said the estate, with asphalted road network, and constant availability of potable water, would soon boast of optic fibre internet connectivity that would be linked to every house to ensure normal work-from-home experience.
The seasoned architect also revealed that Novone Garden Housing Estate will be an extremely highbrow estate with top-leveled security, describing it as the model for sustainable partnership for housing development.
