Amadu Attai, Ita Enang, Bishop Akpan Mock Gov. Udom

As the support base of the People Democratic Party, PDP, continues to deplete by the day to the advantage of the All Progressives Congress, APC, the stalwarts of the latter have taken turn to play down on the possibility of the incumbent state governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, to come back to power in 2019.
Addressing the defectors from 12 local government areas weekend, the APC deputy governorship candidate, Dr. Amadu Atai, said had Mr. Emmanuel knew he would be out of favour given the unfolding events, he would have paid bursaries, pensions, gratuities and other entitlements to deserving citizens of the state.

Bishop Samuel Akpan, an APC stalwart and Mr. Udom Emmanuel’s kinsman, who facilitated the reception ceremony for the decampees at Nsima Ekere’s Campaign grounds in Uyo, said Mr. Emmanuel is his junior who has fared badly, having disappointed his people back home. He added that the people of Onna have really appreciated Senator Godswill Akpabio for bringing to them the opportunity to produce a state governor through Mr. Udom Emmanuel, who has turned out to be ‘a cheater’ to his own people.
The Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters, Senator Ita Enang, while receiving the defectors, said the APC and its leadership is anchored on integrity, honesty and dedication to duty but regretted that the Akwa Ibom State’s incumbent governor is not deploying the state resources in a manner that meets the peoples interest.
“As a political party, the pride of APC and its leadership is anchored on integrity, honesty and dedication to duty. We warmly welcome you to APC and guaranty you equal rights and privileges. Now, you have the opportunity to compare and contrast both political parties. The APC federal government is extending all rights and privileges due to Akwa Ibom state including its monthly allocation from the federation account without fail or hesitation. Regrettably, Udom is not deploying the state resources in a manner that meets the peoples’ interest or satisfies their needs. While the federal government is deploying its own resources in building infrastructure and critical social intervention programmes such as N-Power, school feeding and market-moni, Udom is wasting our money,” he said.
Meanwhile, Pastor Ben Offiong, who spoke on behalf of the defectors under the umbrella of 12 Disciples-4-ONE, promised to commit their strength to the APC two times of what they used to give the PDP, describing their former party as a sinking ship.
