2019: Ikot Abasi House Of Reps Aspirant In Alleged Certificate Scandal

Serious allegations of certificate forgery have been levelled against a former Member of the House of Representatives from Ikot Abasi Federal Constituency, Mr. Bernard Ambrose Udoh, who is also aspiring to return to the Green Chambers in the 2019 elections on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The facts emerged recently following a petition by an indigene of the area (name withheld) to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State CID, Ikot Akpan Abia, requesting that the police authority open up an investigation to verify the authenticity or otherwise of the Primary and Secondary School Certificates of Mr. Bernard Ambrose Udoh which are said to be questionable.
The petition dated 27th September, 2018 stated that as at 1999 when Mr. Bernard Ambrose Udoh first contested for the House of Representatives, he did not have any genuine primary and secondary school certificates, same which he presented and still flaunt till today.
Part of the petition read, “ I hereby write to request that Rt. Hon. Bernard Ambrose Udoh, who is one of the aspirants seeking nomination as candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Ikot Abasi Federal Constituency be investigated with a view to verifying the authenticity of Primary and Secondary School Certificates which he may have submitted to the party for the purpose of his aspiration”.
As a response to this, it was gathered that the police yesterday swung into action and invited Mr. Bernard Ambrose Udoh to the station for questioning.
When contacted on the purported scandal, Mr. Bernard Ambrose Udoh confirmed that he was invited by the police: “Yes, I was invited by the police in connection with my certificate”.
The petitioner further stated that the intention was to save his party (APC), the State and Country from embarrassment should Mr. Bernard Ambrose Udoh succeed in jumping the law and presenting himself for any election.
