2019 Campaign: PDP Set To Blackmail Nsima Ekere - APC Alerts A'Ibom
By Mfon Okon
Akwa Ibom State All Progressives Congress, APC, has raised concerns on what it considered as campaign of calumny and character assassination on its governorship flag bearer, Obong (Dr.) Nsima Ekere by Akwa Ibom State Government.
This was contained in a press release signed by the Publicity Secretary of the Party, Mr. Nkereuwem Enyongekere and made available to our news desk,.
The statement indicated that there is purported deliberate smear campaign against Obong Nsima Ekere funded by the State Government and is set to be carried out on both print and social media to destroy the image of Ekere.
The release also stated that the well funded plot is to cause confusion among the members of the public so as to tarnish the integrity and image of the Party and its governorship candidate, Obong Nsima Ekere.
Enyongekere pointed out that the plot by the government which has been disclosed to the All Progressives Congress (APC) will take four different dimensions just to confuse the masses that are fully set to vote for Obong Ekere and APC in 2019 election.
He further maintained that the first will be a defamatory statement that Obong Ekere has entered into a secret pact with Sen. Godswill Akpabio to serve two terms in office as a governor, against a single term he openly promised.
Enyongekere added that the second malicious statement that will commonly flood both print and social media will be that 70% of appointment in Obong Ekere's government will be done by Senator Akpabio, and that there will be no platform for Akwa Ibom people who voted him to make their own inputs.
Akwa Ibom State All Progressives Congress spokesperson further explained that the third fallacious statement will be that the biggest contracts in Obong Ekere's government will be reserved for Igbo businessmen.
He said also that the forth will be if Obong Ekere is elected, he will use clone images of NDDC projects to deceive Akwa Ibom people claiming that it is the State Government Projects.
Enyongekere urged the people of the State to take such insinuations and publications as fabricated falsehood tactically planned to cause confusion among the teeming supporters and voters who are ready to vote for APC in 2019 elections.
