Atiku Confirms Igini’s Fraud In A’Ibom Elections ..As CAGO DG Reveals How REC Slashed 600,000 APC Votes

Amidst controversies surrounding the outcome of the Weekend’s Presidential and the National Assembly elections in Akwa Ibom State, the malfeasance of Mr. Mike Igini, the Akwa Ibom Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, has been acknowledged by Alhaji Atiku Abubarkar, the Presidential candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP.
Alhaji Abubarkar, while addressing the press on Wednesday in Abuja to express his rejection of the Presidential election result, said there were premeditated malpractices in many states which led to the suppression of votes, pointing to how the total vote cast in Akwa Ibom State was whittled down to 50% by the REC in the state.
According to him, “The suppressed votes in my strongholds are so apparent and amateurish, that I am ashamed as a Nigerian that such could be allowed to happen. How can total votes in Akwa Ibom, for instance, be 50% less than what they were in 2015?” he queried.
Meanwhile, the Akwa Ibom State former Commissioner for Rural Development, and the Director General of Godswill Akpabio Campaign Oranization, GACO, while speaking with The Sensor yesterday, corroborated Atiku’s position of vote reduction in the just concluded elections in the state, saying Mr. Mike igini had pruned down over 600,000 votes scored by the All Progressives Congress, APC, which left the total votes cast in the state in the presidential polls at 571,261 despite Akwa Ibom having 1,933,362 persons with permanent voter’s cards, PVCs.
Dr. Akpan maintained that had Mike Igini allowed over 600,000 APC’s votes to count, the total votes polled by Akwa Ibom State would have stood at over 1,171,261 which is around the region the state recorded in the 2015 presidential elections.
The former commissioner said he was able to collect the results held in all the wards and the 10 local government areas in Akwa Ibom Northwest (Ikot Ekpene) Senatorial District that all indicated that Senator Godswill Akpabio did not only emerge victorious but has his opponent, Engr. Chris Ekpenyong of the PDP as very distant seconder.
He decried how the agents of the state government in connivance with the compromised electoral officers went about altering the figures while replacing the authentic results with the prewritten and predetermined results, to bring down the rating of the state in national politics.
Dr. Chris Akpan said Senator Akpabio was contesting against combined forces of INEC REC,Mike Igini; the Akwa Ibom State Government apparatus and “electoral inconsequential” Chris Ekpenyong of the PDP in which the former Senate Minority Leader, Senator Akpabio still emerged tops at the end of the day.
Akpan further revealed to our correspondent that the Returning Officer for Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, Prof. Peter Ogban, had announced Senator Godswill Akpabio as the winner of the senatorial race in Ikot Ekpene, the senatorial headquarters, but was to be overturned by Mike Igini in Uyo.

To optimize the true position of the state in national politics, Essien Udim APC Caucus insists that the observation by the PDP Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubarkar is right because over 600,000 votes of APC were cancelled to enable the PDP win in the state.
