"Our blessing is for ONE" - Ikono/Ini declares... Vow to deliver APC Candidates On Feb. 16 & March, 2nd ...As APC Embarks On Ward Tour

The People of Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency made a solemn declaration in one accord that they will not give their vote of blessings to any other candidate apart from APC candidates in the forth coming general election.

The community leaders and defectors, who disclosed this on  Friday in Ukwok ward 9/10, during the the onging APC ward tour across Ikono and Ini local government area, said their political ideology is that of one direction for the development of their community.

The event attracted eminent community leaders, Ini traditional rulers, Elders, Women, Youth and  Students,  APC Chieftains including the former member representing the Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Prof. Ini Udoka; the immediate past State House of Assembly Member in the area, Obong Paul Owo; the political Mentor of Ini, Dr. Godwin Udoudo; the APC former State House of Assembly Candidates for Ini State Constituency, Barr. James Ndem.

Others who accompany the party and their flag bearers to the event  were: the Wife of the APC flagbearer for Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency, Mrs. Millicent Idiong,  the Member, representing Ikono State Constituency, Hon. Victor Udofia; the 2018 aspirant for Ikono State Constituency, Mr. Abasieno Okon and over one hundred PDP members who defected to APC at the event.

Speaking at the event, the immediate past National Assembly member for the Constituency, Prof. Ini Udoka, while presenting Barr. Edidiong Idiong  and Nya Isong to Ini people as Men with proven integrity and capacity to take Ini people to the next level of prosperity, said the constituency believes in 'practical politics' not politics of theory which is in principles alone and not seen in practice as Ini people will stand on "ONE" accord for development and will not divide their vote to any other candidates.

His Words: "We will not share Ikono/Ini vote to any other candidates, most especially the recalcitrant that PDP have chosen, thinking they can impose them on us, their candidate for Ini State Constituency, Mr. Emmanuel Ekpenyong is not from Ini, he is from Oron, we will not make such mistake for an alien to lead us, our true Son is out, Kenny Eka, Nya Isong and Barr. Idiong with President Buhari, Obong Nsima Ekere, Sen Godswill Akpabio are candidates with  pedigree that will deliver Ikono/Ini", he said.

Similarly, Hon. Paul Owo urged Ikono/Ini not to fall a pray to the opposition party 'vote buying', by selling their birthright on peenut money as Barr. Idiong, together with other APC candidates will attract federal government and state government project to Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency including the deplorable road network in Ini abandoned over the years by PDP, which Nsima Ekere has promised to construct for Ini people.

Speaking further, Hon. Augustine Asuaiko, affirmed that it is the first time in history for a governorship candidate of a party to mention his community deplorable road conditions as one of his top priority to deliver on assumption into office.

The former Lawmaker, a Frontline Community Leader, said with Ekere declaration to  construct the deplorable condition of Ukwok road, he and the entire Ikono/Ini  people will do everything possible to ensure that Nsima Ekere emerge as the next Governor of Akwa Ibom State.

According to him, "if any political party cannot change you positively, change that party - we defected from PDP to APC because their reward system was poor, they had nothing for us despite all the effort we put in for them to succeed".

On his part, the APC Standard bearer for Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency ,Barr. Edidiong Idiong, while receiving the royal blessing assured the people of Ikono/Ini that he will attract developmental project from state and federal government to the area as encapsulated in his five points agenda.

He called on the people to vote all APC candidate rightly on 16th Feb. and March 2nd as their vote will simply count.

Similarly Hon. Nya Isong assured Ukwok people that he will work with Obong Nsima Ekere to ensure that the deplorable road situation of  Ukwok Community is rehabilitate while in office.

The candidate thank the people for such confidence reposed on APC candidates in the area and promised that they will reciprocate such confidence  when voted into office.

High point of the event include Royal blessing from Ukwok traditional rulers council, reception of over one hundred defectors from PDP to APC by Ini APC Chapter Chairman, Mr. Itoro Efrenie.

It will be recalled that the ward tour which was flag off on Wednesday at Itak community in Ikono has recorded tremendous success on APC chances of wining the forthcoming election.

Uwemedimo Nwoko, was in court on 22nd October 2020 to oppose the application. The matter was adjourned to 24th November 2020 for decisions to be taken on motions. By UbongAbasi Ise Governorship and the state house of assembly elections have come and gone, not without leaving the people of Ukanafun community in mourning, as indigenes were shot while coming out to perform their civic responsibility on Saturday. At polling unit 004 in Ikot Udo Ossiom in Ward 2, Ukanafun local government area, Ubokutom Sampson, a man of 25 years of age, was allegedly shot by a military personnel claimed to have accompanied the stakeholders of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, according to an eyewitness who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity.   Sampson was later confirmed dead. Another victim of gunshot at the polling unit was a woman, who was simply described as Mrs. Udom. The source claimed she was also shot by the same soldier who opened fire on Ubokutom Sampson.
