Onna Women Bid Udom Farewell
The women of Onna, the hometown of the incumbent Governor
of Akwa Ibom State, Deacon Udom Emmanuel, this afternoon bid him farewell from
the Government House.
Passing the message to Deacon Emmanuel via a special
number christened “Afo ammenim ke akpaniko ke Udom anyong idung?” loosely
translated to mean, “Are you convinced that Udom has been sent packing?”, the
women enunciated reasons why he cannot be reelected for a second term.
In the lyrics of their song, the women lambasted Governor
Emmanuel for being insincere, clannish and selective in terms of empowerment,
appointment and spreading of development in the area.
The women who lamented potpourri of uncompleted projects
dotting the area (excluding Awa where he hails from), chorused that they cannot
continue to support him.
The women who chorused in their rendition that “A good
friend is better than a bad brother” averred that they'll vote en masse for Obong
Nsima Ekere come March 2nd, to emerge as the next governor of Akwa Ibom State.
