Onna Women Bid Udom Farewell

The women of Onna, the hometown of the incumbent Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Deacon Udom Emmanuel, this afternoon bid him farewell from the Government House.

Passing the message to Deacon Emmanuel via a special number christened “Afo ammenim ke akpaniko ke Udom anyong idung?” loosely translated to mean, “Are you convinced that Udom has been sent packing?”, the women enunciated reasons why he cannot be reelected for a second term.
In the lyrics of their song, the women lambasted Governor Emmanuel for being insincere, clannish and selective in terms of empowerment, appointment and spreading of development in the area.
The women who lamented potpourri of uncompleted projects dotting the area (excluding Awa where he hails from), chorused that they cannot continue to support him.
The women who chorused in their rendition that “A good friend is better than a bad brother” averred that they'll vote en masse for Obong Nsima Ekere come March 2nd, to emerge as the next governor of Akwa Ibom State.

By UbongAbasi Ise Following the application by one of the representatives of the 5,000 sacked secondary school teachers, Mr. Ukeme Anwan, seeking a change of a sole witness in Suit CA/C/362/2018 brought before the Court of Appeal sitting in Calabar by the Akwa Ibom State Government, the state Attorney General, Barr. Uwemedimo Nwoko, was in court on 22nd October 2020 to oppose the application. The matter was adjourned to 24th November 2020 for decisions to be taken on motions. This village hosts the state judiciary headquarters, Police "A" Division, Nigerian Prisons, Fire Service, State Library headquarters, Uyo local government council, Anchor Insurance, Ibom Plaza, banks, and motley of business organizations.
