Reception Of PDP Defectors Into APC Will Close In Two Weeks – Emmanuel Ekon

Mr. Emmanuel Ekon, lawmaker representing Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency in the Nigeria’s lower chamber of the legislature has announced the deadline for the reception of defectors into the All Progressives Congress, APC, in his constituency.
In a statement electronically released to the media, Mr. Ekon tasked the electorates to take full advantage of what he described as “the transfer window” as it will close in two weeks’ time.
“In modern times, politics have been compared to a game of football where players move at the beginning of a new season. The transfer window has a time frame. For us in Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency APC, the transfer window will close in two weeks. You should take advantage of this gesture and do the needful,” the statement reads.
Emmanuel Ekon, who is the Chairman House Committee on Local Content in the Federal House of Representive, enthused that APC has taken over all the political structures in Akwa Ibom State, and expressed optimism that his party will win the forthcoming elections convincingly.
He said he will not relent in holding fast and to secure the constituency from the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP.
“It is no longer debatable that the All Progressive Congress (APC) has taken over all the political structures in Akwa Ibom State and there is no doubting the fact that it would win the forthcoming elections convincingly.
“As your representative and custodian of the sacred mandate of the party for the House of Representatives seat, I will not fold my arms and allow you to be led by the noses into a failed project called the PDP. God will not forgive me if I allow this to happen.
“You are aware that all the Who-is-Who that used to make the PDP tick in Abak/Etim Ekpo/ Ika Federal Constituency have moved over to embrace the new vision. The few self-acclaimed leaders who are still holding the tattered umbrella do not have the capacity to deliver any unit to the PDP and I do not intend to allow you the good people to sink with them,” he declares in the statement.
He called on his constituents to come together and work for the good of the constituency as the PDP has collapsed in the area.
“We would be better off working together to bring something back home from the center. That party called PDP is gone in our Federal Constituency and those who believe they are still calling the shots have all expired politically. This is a new era and we must collectively embrace it,” he said.
