Udom Flares Up Against Akpabio
By UbongAbasi Ise
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, has taken to twitter to tongue-lash 'a former governor' suspected to be Senator Godswill Akpabio, his estranged benefactor.
Although the Governor Emmanuel carefully avoided mentioning his predecessor's name in the tweet, it was apparent that he was referring to Senator Akpabio as the post linked him to the tension experienced in the state lately.
“The mastermind of these crises include, people that this state gave the opportunity to become what they never dreamt they could become. People that other people gave the opportunity to become a commissioner for 6 years and a Governor for 8 years making it 14 years,” the tweet reads.
It would be recalled that Mr. Akpabio served as the Commissioner for Petroleum and Natural Resources; the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs as well as the Lands and Town Planning for a cumulative period of over five years under the government of Arc. (Obong)Victor Attah, before moving ahead to serve as the State Governor for eight years.
Before his tweet on Tuesday, Mr. Udom Emmanuel had stormed the tension-filled Assembly complex to hold a closed door meeting with Barr. Onofiok Luke, the embattled speaker of the 6th Assembly.
