Govt House Debt: Ime Ekpo Dragged To ICPC

By Etok Okon A team of consultants engaged by the Akwa Ibom State Government to execute the construction of the now litigation-prone government house complex in Uyo, have dragged Arc. Ime Ekpo,  to the ICPC over alleged misappropriation of over 4bn Naira fees for appointed consultants. Ime Ekpo, a former Director of Housing and current Commissioner for Lands and Town Planning who is also the General Overseer of God's Own Ministry International, Akpan Essien Street, Uyo, represented the Supervising Ministry of Housing and Urban Renewal then. So he was directly the technical resource person interfacing with consultants and contractors, paying fees to consultants. Etinan Federal Seat: Group Moves Against Sam Ikon, Backs Onofiok Luke

A socio-political group in Etinan local government area has ditched Elder Sam Ikon, the present member representing Etinan Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives while calling on the current speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Barr. Onofiok Luke, to move on and to take over the seat at the green chambers come 2019. At the recent meeting held by Etinan Chapter of Grassroot Support Movement, GSM, and witnessed by key members of the international executive council of the group, the Etinan constituents expressed support for Barr. PDP Disgraces Moses Ekpo, Snatches Party Ticket From Anointed Candidate

Barely six weeks to the conduct of local government election in the State, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has disgraced the State Deputy Governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo by dropping his anointed candidate and party flag-bearer for the much expected election in Abak, sir, Gabriel Etim. The Sensor authoritatively gathered that Ekpo was instrumental to the emergence of Etim as the flag-bearer despite protest from other aspirants who contested for the ticket. The number two citizen in the State was said to have argued that Etim is his only slot after he failed to produce another anointed candidate as a councillorship candidate from his ward. Most times, it comes to a point whereby power-mongers would mechanically take people merely as election materials instead of humans; they see electorates as something akin to raw materials from which the political power would be extracted and conferred upon them. As 2019 electioneering season is surfacing from the horizon, we would now see these politicians to coming down heavy on the masses to scramble for votes. All they would do is to play on the people’s psyche, appear as gracious as angels with the aura of populism, and beguile the masses with the promises packed with unimaginable programmes and projects that are merely vote-catching gimmicks.     ...

However, Akwa Ibom State in recent times has witnessed increasing dots of Cryptocurrency exchange outlets especially in Uyo, and this rings the bell to announce that another sort of revolution in the financial sector is on the horizon.
