Etinan Federal Seat: Group Moves Against Sam Ikon, Backs Onofiok Luke

A socio-political group in Etinan local government area has ditched Elder Sam Ikon, the present member representing Etinan Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives while calling on the current speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Barr. Onofiok Luke, to move on and to take over the seat at the green chambers come 2019.
At the recent meeting held by Etinan Chapter of Grassroot Support Movement, GSM, and witnessed by key members of the international executive council of the group, the Etinan constituents expressed support for Barr. Onofiok Luke to continue his political career at the federal level as they decried legislative misrepresentation of their constituency at the federal level.
In his address, the Etinan chapter coordinator of GSM, Mr. Edidiong Akpan, said that Iman people have been cheated despite having a representative at the lower chamber of the federal legislature and expressed the need for Onofiok Luke who has the track-record of community and youth development to take over the mandate come 2019.
While commending Etinan chapter for the job well done, Mr. Nsikak Idem, the GSM international President, called on members of the movement to redouble their effort in going into the nook and the crannies of the local government to mobilize support for Onofiok Luke.
Also speaking, the international secretary of GSM, Pastor Ime Obot, said that Mr. Emma Bassey from Nsit Ibom had represented the constituency for 8 years; Surv. Aniedi King (Etinan) had had 4 years; Mr. Dan Akpan of Nsit Ubium represented the constituency for 4 years, while the incumbent, Elder Sam Ikon would be completing Etinan term of 4 year in 2019, and therefore it would be the turn of Nsit Ubium come 2019 as this would represent justice, equity and fair play.
