Various locations in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, were recently lit with an array of Nollywood stars appearing for the making of Money Man, a possible action-packed film directed by Ezeugo U. Ezeugo.  The multi-million project is expected to be a smash hit owing to massive energy put in by casts and crew members, with attention paid to every detail. The film stars the likes of Zubby Michael, Harry B. Anyawu, Shane George, Eve Essien, Moses Armstrong, Igwe Gravity and over 50 artistes of Akwa Ibom extraction.

Money Man is a production of DDP Galaxy Entertainment. The plot of the film is purely a dramatization of a predatory quest for money. Ikenna (Igwe Gravity), also known as Money-Man, is a youthful academic graduate who is seen rising from poor socio-economic background to growing affluence. The nouveau-riche appears to stand above all situations, but for how long would he weather the storm around him?

A saying that ‘a chick that will grow into a cock can be spotted the very day it hatches’ could best describe Money Man, implying that this movie would be well-received when hit the market given the level of sophistication brought to bear during production. It is therefore left for the viewers to expect and wait for thrilling scenes of sheer action, romance and intrigues that would only cease at end of the film. Money Man is expected soon on YouTube at DDPgalaxytv channel.

Speaking with The Sensor at the film location in Uyo recently, the lead actor, Igwe Gravity, described the Money Man production as one of the biggest projects in Nollywood in 2021 which is handled by DDP Galaxy Entertainment.

He confessed that his job role has been very tasking, which demands him to subject himself to mood-swings. In his words, “there are a lot of shouting, calmness and mood changes.”

The Nollywood actor further called on the youth to look out for lessons in prospective film, warning that “It is not good to make money in illegal way because anyone acquiring wealth illegally would definitely pay for it.” He called on  young people to develop themselves and work hard so that when the money comes their way, they would enjoy it peacefully.

Also speaking with our correspondent was the chief executive officer of DDP Galaxy Entertainment, Sir Obioma Chukwuka Onyeama popularly known as Osunmanu 1.  He disclosed that why his company chose Akwa Ibom as a location for such a massive movie project is because the state is still virgin in terms of entertainment, stating that there are a lot of attractive sites in the state that could be used to create a lot of exciting motion pictures for people to watch.

Sir Onyeama confessed that unlike Imo State, his home state, where there is insurrection, Akwa Ibom offers peace and safety, expressing his love for the state’s culture, cuisines and the environment while describing Akwa Ibom as his second home.

On his plans, the filmmaker said he aims at repositioning Nollywood and to make Uyo the next movie hub by establishing a movie village.

“My dream is to reform Nollywood and to take it to the next level. And I want Uyo to be the next movie hub, a home of entertainment industry where everybody will be coming to partake in the entertainment business because there are a lot of facilities here; road network is superb, the government is really working well and there are a lot of infrastructures put in place.

“My dream is also to have an academy and a movie village, and I have a lot of goals to actualize this in Akwa Ibom,” he declared.

Sir Obioma Chukwuka Onyeama called on the government to support the entertainment industry by providing security, facilities, and an environment that would be conducive for the entertainers to showcase Akwa Ibom to the world.

Meanwhile, the DDP Galaxy Entertainment has two other major movie productions such as The Brain and Divorce. Besides, the company is an all-round entertainment concern which was registered in 2010, which is currently based in Uyo. The company is setting up a record studio where upcoming musicians could be promoted to any next level.
