Covid-19 Palliatives To Be Shared As Christmas Gifts – Ita Udosen … Says Warehouses In A’Ibom Well Guarded By Security Operatives

Dr. Ita Udosen, acting Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC , has accused some state governors of converting federal government-released Covid-19 palliatives to Christmas gifts.

While receiving Senator John Akpanudoedeghe, the National Secretary of the Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee of the APC at the party’s state secretariat recently, Dr. Udosen said the so-called EndSARS protest hijacked by hoodlum would not have degenerated to vandalism and looting if the state governments had distributed the palliatives meant for their people.

Udosen further hinted his visitor on the presence of heavy security operatives around warehouses where palliatives are allegedly hoarded in Akwa Ibom State. He said if those items were released, there would not have been tension.

“The “EndSARS” protest that was hijacked by hoodlums was not after us. After all the federal government sent palliatives and some state governors decided to hoard them, and re-bagged them for Christmas gift, so that is the attention you have to draw; the federal government should know that. And now some warehouses in Akwa Ibom are now guarded by the military and other security agencies.  If they had gone to those houses and bring out the rice, noodle and the rest, nobody would have quarreled with them as it happened in some other states. The vandalism of personal and party properties is what the APC takes exception to,” he said.

The acting state chairman of the APC wondered why the hoodlum chose to attack the party secretariat given the fact that the protest was not targeted at the party as the federal government had done its bid by supplying palliatives to throughout the federation. He accused the state governors of hoarding them with the intention to repackage them and distribute them as Christmas gifts.
