Group Scores Akpabio High On Best Record Performance ...Pledges Support To Minister, President Buhari

A Socio- Cultural group known as Ata Uyiu Mkparawa Ekid has felicitated the Minister of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Senator Godswill Akpabio on his recent Political elavation as a Minister, describing him as a leader with exceptional developmental capacity.

The group noted that Akpabio remains the best in terms of infrastructural and humanitarian development since the creation of Akwa Ibom State,  pledged their support for the Minister and President Buhari in their bid in repositioning Niger Delta and Nigeria as a whole.

The position of the group was made known as they paid a courtesy visit on the former Chairman of Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area, Hon. Ekpe James in his Uyo resident to formally adopt him as Patron.

Ata Uyiu Mkparawa Ekid is said to comprised of youths from the four Local Government Areas of Eket Federal Constituency being- Eket, Onna, Esit Eket and Ibeno Local Government Areas with the sole aim of attracting dividends of democracy to the people of the area as one of the major oil producing Local Government Areas in Nigeria.


The group lamented that the said Local government areas have not really witnessed government present both from the federal and state level as compared to other oil producing Local Government  in the Country, which according to them was the reason for the formation of the organization to draw government attention to the needs of the people In the area.

The group however solicited for Akpabio's developmental aid to be extended to the area.

Addressing the gathering, the National President of the organization, Elder Aniefiok Cobb Conson said the group was not necessarily formed to antagonize the government but to subject itself as a tool in fostering development to the people of the area.
 He used the occasion to commend the Minister on the commencement of work at the East- way road and other projects so mentioned. 

Also speaking, one of the contractors in the Commission, Engineer Obinna Paul Peter Said NDDC has taken shape since Godswill Akpabio took over the Commission, however pleaded with him to pay the accrued contractors debt by past Chairmen.

Those who spoke at the event were; the Chairman of the group, Dr. David Benjamin, Obongawan Grace Usoh, Hon. Bassey Willie, Hon. Charles Sunday, Otuekong U. Etukudoh amongst others.

Responding, the former Chairman of Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area, Hon. Ekpe James advised the group to maintain the vision and the mission of which the group was formed.

He however sent words of encouragment to Senator Akpabio to continue in his good works and not to be distracted by evil spirited fellows.

Hon. James further praised Akpabio for the positive impact he created in his life, attributed his success to God using Akpabio in human to bless him.
