The Chairman of Trinity Group of Companies, Arc. (Obongunwana) Ubokutom Nyah, has remarked on the popularity one of the organization’s subsidiaries, The Sensor Newspaper, has gained in recent times.
While speaking during 2020 Annual Staff New Year Service organized by Trinity Group in Uyo yesterday, Arc. Nyah confessed that his personality has now been identified with The Sensor Newspaper even more than his profession.
He recounted how the Minister of the Niger-Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio aptly referred to him at social events as “Sensor” instead of “Architect” or “Ubokutom” he usually called him, a remark that threw the audience into amusement.
The Chairman of the Group further commended the longest surviving print media outfit in Akwa Ibom State for its research prowess, professionalism and ability to stand tall in the face of competition.
“I don’t know if there is any newspaper that could compete with The Sensor Newspaper in Akwa Ibom State in terms of honesty, research power, and authority. Today, all the contemporaries of The Sensor have gone,” said Arc. Nyah.
Trinity Group comprises of Otto Trinity Studios, Prudential Cooperative Microfinance Bank, The Sensor Newspapers, Trinity Printers, Akwa Ibom Financial Prudential Cooperative Association (AKFIPCA), Faith Aluniniums, AKFIPCA Farms and others.
Arc. (Obongunwana) Ubokutom Nyah also lauded the Prudential Cooperative Microfinance Bank for leading the pack in the competition of microfinance banking in the state.
Speaking with our correspondent shortly after the thanksgiving service, Mr. Itoro Nyoyoko, Executive Principal Manager, Finance and Operations of the Prudential Cooperative Microfinance Bank, maintained that the bank has recorded tremendous success since its establishment in 1994, and could now boast of over 49,000 customers and 20 branches spread all over the state.
“We came into banking services in 1994, and for us to be in business up to 2020, I think God is to be praised. We have recorded many successes.
“As at 2019, our customers were numberef up to 49,000; we have 20 branches all over the state. In 2020, we are hoping to double the customer base and be giving financial services to Akwa Ibomites,” he said.
Also speaking, one of the scholars under AKFIPCA scholarship, Promise Matthew, a 500 level male medical student studying at the Igbinedion University, said the AKFIPCA’s kind gesture is not just a scholarship but an investment aimed at redefining their values in order to become competent individuals in the society, adding that “it is very rare to see an opportunity like this.”
Earlier, Rev. Usenobong Akpan of Assemblies of God Church, during exhortation, warned the staff of the Trinity Group to shun lackadaisical attitude to work, while urging them to be more productive, and to develop positive attitude that would drives success in 2020.
