Buhari To Inaugurate Akpabio, Ors August 21

Senator Godswill Akpabio and 42 other minister-designates will be sworn in on August 21, 2019 in Abuja by President Muhammadu Buhari to serve in his cabinet.
In a statement  released yesterday, secretary to the government of the federation, Boss Mustapha, disclosed that the new ministers would be sworn in on Wednesday, August 21, 2019.
President Buhari is expected to assign portfolios to the ministers in the coming days.
The Senate had confirmed 43 ministerial nominees by the President in July 2019.
While fighting the legal battle to reclaim the senate seat of Akwa Ibom Northwest district from Senator Chris Ekpeyong, the former governor was favoured as President Muhammadu Buhari included him in the list of 43-ministerial nominees, which he sent to the Senate for screening and confirmation.
The president’s decision seems to have shocked Akpabio's critics and several allegations and petitions have arisen against him, ostensibly to stop his screening and confirmation.

By UbongAbasi Ise Following the application by one of the representatives of the 5,000 sacked secondary school teachers, Mr. Ukeme Anwan, seeking a change of a sole witness in Suit CA/C/362/2018 brought before the Court of Appeal sitting in Calabar by the Akwa Ibom State Government, the state Attorney General, Barr. Uwemedimo Nwoko, was in court on 22nd October 2020 to oppose the application. The matter was adjourned to 24th November 2020 for decisions to be taken on motions. This is the village where Mr. Udom Emmanuel, as Akwa Ibom State governor, is having his office. This village hosts the state judiciary headquarters, Police "A" Division, Nigerian Prisons, Fire Service, State Library headquarters, Uyo local government council, Anchor Insurance, Ibom Plaza, banks, and motley of business organizations. This community is the root of Uyo metropolis, the seat of Akwa Ibom State government. Ironically, this village has never had any indigene appointed as a commissioner into the state cabinet before.
