MTN Nigeria Hires Impersonators – NANS Cries Out
By UbongAbasi Ise
The National Secretariat of
NANS Intelligence in a statement release to the media over weekend claims some
South African business entities particularly Mobile Telecommunication Nigeria,
MTN, has concluded plans to go into a meeting any moment with some
impersonators purportedly claiming to be representatives of their organisation,
NANS.
The student body, in a
statement signed by Wande Ajayi, Chief Press Secretary to the NANS
President, warned that any attempt by
MTN Nigeria and other South African interests at weakening their legitimate
demands aimed at ending xenophobic attack on Nigerians in South Africa will be
met with the swiftness of action that the MTN Nigeria and its contracted
impersonators will forever regret.
According to the statement,
“We use this medium to also remind those who MTN may have mischievously
contracted for this desperate, callous and provoking mission that should they
appear as representatives of NANS at any meeting with MTN Nigeria or any South
African company whatsoever, they should prepare to face the full wrath of law
and derisive opprobrium of all Nigerians in all ramifications for appropriating
to themselves duties not assigned to them by the leadership of NANS.”
NANS stated that its members
and the public are awaiting the directive on the picketing exercise against
South African companies operating in Nigeria.
The student association disclosed
that the South African Ambassador to Nigeria had recently invited the NANS
President, Comrade Danielson Akpan for a meeting, who immediately declined the
meeting with a reply.
NANS stated that all they want
is complete end to the killings of Nigerians in South Africa which have gone
unabated for years.
