Marginalization: Provost Slams PDP Leadership
The
Provost Federal School of Medical Laboratory Science, Jos, Plateau State, Dr.
Nkereuwem Etukudoh has descended heavily on the leadership of the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) for denying the people of Midim Clan in Abak Local
Government Area the opportunity to produce the Candidate for Abak State
Constituency seat.
Dr. Etukudoh who spoke as the Chairman of
Midim Day Celebration organized by Eka Midim Community at Comprehensive
Secondary School, Midim lamented that despite the support given to Mr. Udom Emmanuel
by the people of Midim Clan during the 2015 general election and subsequent
support to his administration, Midim people have been short-changed and have
not fared better either in elective or appointment. “I am aware of the
complaints and agitation of Midim people against Governor Udom Emmanuel's
administration. Truly, there is not gainsaying that Midim people have been
shortchanged and have not fared better either in elective positions or
appointment. Up to this moment, I cannot understand clearly why the
forth-coming Abak State Constituency seat earlier zoned to Midim Clan by PDP
was later upturned by powers that be. To us, this is a bitter lesson.
Nevertheless, we are grateful to Mr. President for graciously acceded to the
yearning of our people, thus APC has zoned the forth-coming Abak State
Constituency seat of the House of Assembly Election to Midim Clan”, the Provost
stated.
As
the people celebrate, the Provost urged them to work to sustain the culture of
trust, excellence, integrity, love, peace, togetherness, social stability,
integration, co-operation, generosity and general harmony that they often
cherished as great ideals.
Dr.
Etukudoh used the occasion to commend President Buhari for always working to
serve the interests of the people and for finding him fit to continue in his
capacity as the Provost/CEO of Federal School of Medical Laboratory Technology
(Science), Jos.
He
pointed out that the Buhari administration has demonstrated single-minded
commitment to upgrading and developing Nigeria's transport, power and health
infrastructure and has also suspended the eight-year tenure policy of the
Federal Government as related to MDAs, thus enabling Federal Directors and
Permanent Secretaries to continue in office till retirement age.
The
Provost also lauded the improved economic indices, rising investment in
agriculture, ongoing passionate efforts to improve security in the
North-Central region of the country among others.
While
wishing President Buhari a peaceful campaign visit to Akwa Ibom State, Dr.
Etukudoh assured that he will not only vote for him, but will mobilize his
people to give President Buhari massive votes to enable him win the 2019
Presidential election. Dr. Etukudoh was honoured at the occasion for his
selfless contribution to the development of the community in particular and
humanity at large.
