Udom Under Fire Over Aide’s Attack On Nsima Ekere

By UbongAbasi Ise

Mr. Aniekeme Finbarr, a Special Assistant on Media to Governor Udom Emmanuel, has attracted heavy media attack on his boss as he took to his twitter handle to make a ridiculous comment against Obong (Dr.) Nsima Ekere over the upcoming 2019 gubernatorial election.
Finbarr, who tweeted on Wednesday at about 10:43am predicted Mr. Udom Emmanuel’s victory at the polls, while suggesting that Obong Nsima Ekere and other contestants would be accepting the result with no objection.
“Come 2019, the breaking news will be Governor Udom Emmanuel wins Akwa Ibom Guber Elections, Ekere, others accept outcome of polls, say power belongs to God,” the tweet reads.
Media trolls immediately swooped on Mr. Finbarr with his boss, Governor Udom Emmanuel, receiving a fair share of angry backlashes.

According to Salomi Edet, with an account name, @EdetSalomi, “you have big dreams but will only be executed when you get back to Lagos with @MrUdomEmmanuel.” Following this, a user with a twitter handle, UnyimeSamuel2, described Finbarr’s tweet as a “dream of a scared man, adding “I feel your pain.”
Another troll, @Bebeimmy35, replied Finbarr, “Please help us tell Udom to look into the money they collected from women for farm loan. Those women paid N20,000 for that and till now nothing has been done/said about it.”
A user with a handle, @02playhouse, said “if Udom wins you would have contributed very little to his victory. Just reading your profile, I’m shocked you are the Special Assistant to the Governor on media. You and your commissioner for Information have done very little to change the public perception of Udom.”
At the tail of the thread, @Ubekas told Finbarr, “keep dreaming, you think winning election is like tweeting. Can you win your unit for Udom?”
Meanwhile Obong Nsima Ekere, the APC gubernatorial candidate, will be facing Governor Udom Emmanuel who bears the PDP flag in the election scheduled for next year February.
