A’Ibom Guber Candidate Promises Free University Education … Vows To Unseat Udom In 2019

A candidate recently nominated on the platform of All Grand Alliance Party, AGAP, to bear the party’s flag in the gubernatorial race next year, has vowed to bring about free education to lucky Akwa Ibomites that will be studying in the university during his tenure, only if he wins the forthcoming election.
Speaking with our correspondent weekend, Mr. Divine Solomon who emerged the AGAP consensus candidate following the party’s primaries held in Ikot Ada Idem in Ibiono Ibom local government area, said he is willing to provide quality free education to Akwa Ibom undergraduates including taking care of students participating in the West African Examination Certificate, WAEC.
“I want to give good and quality free education, not the type of free education they are talking today. I will make sure that from Year One to the Final Year, I will give them free education at the university level. At the secondary school level, all the WAEC students in Akwa Ibom State will be taken care of,” he said.
Solomon said his emphasis would be extended to the area of youths’ empowerment and industrialization as the incumbent state government shows no seriousness in those dimensions of development.
“We are having problem with youths’ empowerment and industrialization. In Akwa Ibom State there is no creation of industries rather they are playing lip service politics telling us that they have built this and that. We know those ones are fallacies. So I want to come and make a difference. I want to create job opportunities for the youths; I want to build industries and I want to complete Ibom Deep Seaport Project,” said Solomon.
When asked if he has a chance to beat major opponents in the race, Mr. Divine Solomon said it is God that appoints leadership, expressing confidence that he will defeat the incumbent state governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, and overcome other rivals at the polls come 2019.

“It is not man that appoints a leader but God. We have been having wrong leaders and emergency governors in Akwa Ibom State. I won’t be an emergency governor; I am prepared by God for the election and I know too well I’m going to defeat the rest at the polls.
“I want the people to know that I am the next governor of Akwa Ibom State, and they should vote me because we are moving to the Hilltop Mansion, and I’m going to remove Udom Emmanuel in 2019, that’s what I say,” he declared.
