Communique Issued at the End of The 24th Plenary Meeting Of Coalition Of Essien Udim Youths (COESUY) Which Held On Monday 24th September, 2019

INTRODUCTION

The COALITION OF ESSIEN UDIM YOUTHS hereinafter referred to as COESUY has observed with utter dismay the unprovoked and malicious attempt by paid agents of the current PDP administration in the State to rubbish and continually impugn the glowing image of our Leader - distinguished Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, just because he has left the PDP for the APC.

The group has also noted with righteous indignation the sustained media onslaught and campaign of calumny against our distinguished Senator and Leader by the same disgruntled members of PDP who appear to be licking their wounds out of sheer realization that the Senator's epic movement into APC bears an ominous sign of failure for the PDP in the State, in the forthcoming general elections.

In view of the above and other matters arising therefrom, COESUY has resolved and wish to publicly state as follows:
1) That distinguished Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio remains our Torch-bearer and Political Leader who knows the way, shows the way and will always lead the way.

2) As the only Leader who had the knack for turning boys to men, the Youths of Essien Udim nay Akwa Ibom have chosen to follow the Leader they can trust.

3) The group frowns at the beggarly and self-deprecating attitude of some elderly folks from Essien Udim who have since joined in the fray to denigrate and cast aspersion on the person of Senator Godswill Akpabio. The truth is that we know the so-called elders for who they are and what they represent. They are like the biblical Judas, always on the lookout for opportunity to trade-off their Lord and Master for any token of Silver coin our modern day Pharisees can brandish.

4) COESUY deeply frown at the undignified posturing of the treacherous trio of Prince Ukpong Akpabio alias Mega, Anthony Luke alias Aluko and Esse Umoh and wish to hereby warn for the umpteenth time, that Essien Udim Youths have had enough of their shenanigans. Having expropriated the 8 years of Senator Akpabio's regime of bounty to corner for themselves the bogus fortune earmarked for the Youths, we make bold to state that Enough is Enough! No more of their macabre dance and political chicanery.

5) Contempt and disdain is what COESUY holds for the so-called political elders who would have since joined their ancestors served not for the sheer benevolence of the benevolent Senator Godswill Akpabio. The Senator in his usual magnanimity has in the last 10 years graciously oiled and maintained the life cord of these tired and expired politicians who have shamelessly refused to dismount the stage for the Youths to mount even when they know they have since outlived their relevance.

6) Contempt and disdain is what posterity shall hold against the ungrateful protégés of Senator Godswill Akpabio, who are poised on biting the finger that fed and nurtured them to the glorious height of today.

7) COESUY utterly aligns with the candid submission of Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio that there is the urgent need to link the State with Government at the centre so as to ensure that more democratic dividend trickle down to the people back home.

8) As a celebrated Nationalist, Bridge-builder, Uncommon Transformer and Game-changer, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio has continued to tower like a Political Collosus that he is and no amount of mudslinging by his detractors shall succeed in bringing him down. We therefore wish to advise them(detractors) like the wise Anthony de Mello would, "You can't diminish the awesome essence of Niagara Falls by merely spitting into its gushing stream."

9) On the whole, the group hereby felicitate the President and Commander-in-Chief, Muhammadu Buhari over the recent approval of funds for dualization work to commence on major routes linking the State with other parts of the Country. In the same vein, we support and endorse our dear President Muhammadu Buhari to go for a 2nd term in office.

10) We also wish to use this opportunity to once again declare our unalloyed and unflinching loyalty to our Leader - distinguished Senator Godswill Akpabio and as well endorse him for a 2nd term in office.

11) Finally, we salute the rare courage and perseverance of His Excellency, Obong Nsima Ekere( O.N.E) in the struggle for the liberation of the State from the hands of an amateur pilot who was set on giving Akwa Ibom people the ominous May-Day refrain. We therefore support and endorse his gubernatorial aspiration and look forward to celebrating with him at the Hiltop Mansion come May 29, 2019.

By UbongAbasi Ise Following the application by one of the representatives of the 5,000 sacked secondary school teachers, Mr. Ukeme Anwan, seeking a change of a sole witness in Suit CA/C/362/2018 brought before the Court of Appeal sitting in Calabar by the Akwa Ibom State Government, the state Attorney General, Barr. Uwemedimo Nwoko, was in court on 22nd October 2020 to oppose the application. The matter was adjourned to 24th November 2020 for decisions to be taken on motions. By UbongAbasi Ise Governorship and the state house of assembly elections have come and gone, not without leaving the people of Ukanafun community in mourning, as indigenes were shot while coming out to perform their civic responsibility on Saturday. At polling unit 004 in Ikot Udo Ossiom in Ward 2, Ukanafun local government area, Ubokutom Sampson, a man of 25 years of age, was allegedly shot by a military personnel claimed to have accompanied the stakeholders of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, according to an eyewitness who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity.   Sampson was later confirmed dead. Another victim of gunshot at the polling unit was a woman, who was simply described as Mrs. Udom. The source claimed she was also shot by the same soldier who opened fire on Ubokutom Sampson.
