PHEDC Fire Outbreak: AK Citizens Carpet Info Commissioner... Call For Resignation
The recent press statement by the State
Commissioner for Information Mr. Charles Udoh on the fire out break at Afaha
Ubeh Power Substation has attracted knocks from the citizens.
It would be recalled that the
commissioner had in press statement date March 1, 2018 said “fire gutted the
Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) sub-station in Afaha Ubeh, Uyo Local
Government Area today, Thursday, March 1, 2017.”
But reacting to the statement some
citizens berated the information commissioner for not being updated with the
electricity body saying that Power Holding Company of Nigeria had long been
changed to Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, PHEDC.
They also berated the information boss
for signing a press statement dated March 1, 2017 instead of March 1, 2018, as
well as claim that Afaha Ubeh is in Uyo local government area while the
sub-station is located in Itu local government area.
Reacting, Mr. Anietie Eka, blamed what
he called infiltration of the Governor Udom Emmanuel administration by Lagos
boys who are not versed with the happening in the State.
“I do not these Lagos returnees.
It is not their fault but that of the
governor who infiltrate his administration with people who have not touch with
the people or know what they should know about the State.”
Another citizen who simply gave his name
as Samuel said that he is disappointed that a commissioner who claim to have
vast experience in the corperate would make such blunders.
He said that it not the first time that
Charles Udoh will embarrass the present administration citing a controversial
press statement he signed on January 5, 2018 that removed Commissioner for
Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Udo Ekpenyong from office.
He, therefore called on the Information
Commissioner to tender unreserved apology to Akwa Ibom people or resign from
office from incompetency.
