Ibom International Airport in Uyo has been placed at the
top of the pegging order in Nigeria’s aviation industry as a visiting Blockchain
Technologist and Digital Asset dealer says it is the best in Nigeria.
During his interaction with The Sensor correspondent after
the Blockchain Technology conference held in Uyo Monday, Mr. Pinakee Naik, a
Cyprus-based digital money specialist who was born in the United Kingdom to
Indian parents, described his experience in Uyo as fantastic while saying that
the city’s airport is simply amazing.
“I was surprised at the airport; it is amazing. It is
probably the best airport I’ve seen in the whole of Nigeria. The experience
here has been just fantastic, and that’s how Uyo has been right from the beginning
we came,” the digital money expert said.
Another foreign advocate of Blockchain technology, Mr.
Fraser Douther who is from Cyprus, could not hide his admiration for the
capital of Akwa Ibom State when he spoke with our correspondent Monday night.
“I came from Cyprus to talk about Blockchain technology
here in Uyo. Indeed, Uyo has been very friendly. It is a beautiful place, very
tropical” said the Cypriot.
Douther said that digital money has a bright future globally
and that Blockchain technology would be changing the way money is being used
all over the world.
He disclosed that with DasCoin which was launched into
cryptoworld in March this year, there would be more security in transaction,
and that effort has been made to go down the regulation route in order to make
DasCoin one of the best cryptocurrencies. Douther pointed out that DasCoin Blockchain
is being developed for smart contracts, and there is introduction of smart tab
that would enable users spend cryptocurrency anywhere that accepts visa / master
card.
Also speaking on cryptocurrency, Pinakee Naik said that
the digital money is the most unbelievable thing that come along since the
Industrial Revolution and would impact many people’s lives. He noted that the
biggest advantage DasCoin has is that it could be connected to the Visa and
Master Cards network through Daspay which is powered by Cartaworldwide, and
there would soon be about 60 million retail platforms where DasCoin would be
spendable. Naik called on Akwa Ibomites to embrace cryptocurrency as the world
is moving towards digital way of using money.
Meanwhile, Mr. Udeme Rufus, a Digital Asset/Blockchain
consultant in Uyo, recently, told The
Sensor that the use of digital currencies would soon become a new norm.
According to him, it is believed by the experts that cryptocurrency might wipe
