2019 Guber: Oruk Anam People Beg Nsima Ekere

The people of Oruk Anam Local Government Area have passionately appealed to the Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Obong Nsima Ekere to contest the 2019 governorship election, saying that he is the most credible person to take the State out of the present hunger and backwardness.
The people of the area made the call yesterday at Nnung Ita Community when a former Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Oruk Anam, Mr. Christopher Nelson George popularly called ‘AWILO’ led over 1,000 of his supporters to decamp to All Progressive Congress, APC.
They noted that despite having Governor Udom Emmanuel as their in-law, Oruk Anam people have not benefited from his administration but are rather faced with hunger, deceit and failed promises.
According to the people, the PDP-led administration in the State has totally failed especially in terms of road construction, noting that they are left with no other option than to follow Obong Nsima Ekere that has carried them along. Citing various contracts awarded to construct roads in the area, they unanimously declared that giving the chance to emerge as governor, he will do more for them.
In their separate speeches, APC Chapter Chairman, Anthony Akpan, former Chapter Chairman of PDP in Oruk Anam, Elder Ichong Umoren, APC Chairmanship candidate in December 2 local government election, Mr. Enobong Ntukidem, Elder Imo Ukpe, member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency, Obonguwana Emmanuel Ukoette represented by one of his aides, Edidiong Usoro, and APC ward 4 Chairman, Ekikere Udosen, all noted with dismay the unsatisfactory performance of Governor Emmanuel.
They vowed to vote him out of office come 2019.
Receiving the decampees into APC, the ward Chairman, Ekikere Udosen declared that there is no old or new members of the party as all of them are members of the moving train that is ready to take over the Hilltop Mansion in 2019.
He specifically urged the decampees to work hard to deliver Obong Nsima Ekere as governor and Obonguwana Emmanuel Ukoette for third term as a lawmaker.
Reacting shortly after his formal declaration for APC, Mr. Christopher Nelson George said that his decision to dump PDP for APC is predicated on the fact that the present Chapter Chairman of PDP, Mr. Jacob King has failed to carry other members of the party along and has not called for party meeting ot account for the running of the party.
George who is also a former Publicity Secretary of PDP in Oruk Anam further said that Commissioner in the State Civil Service Commission, Elder Iboro Udom runs the party as a family affairs. He cited a case where Udom appointed his relative who was serving as supervisor in the local government as Councillorship Candidate in the forth-coming local government election.
George also accused the PDP Chairmanship Candidate and Brother-in-law to Governor Udom Emmanuel, Mr. Ubong Idiong of not having respects for Elders. He said that such attitude has forced the progressive minded persons out of the party.
The Sensor correspondent reports that various groups including “Akpede Ubiak”, joined in their resolve to work for the success of APC in December 2 2017, and the 2019 general election.
