In an effort to support the free and
compulsory education policy of the Akwa Ibom State Government and as well
provide a better future for the less privilege children in the State by
supporting their educational career, a non-governmental, non-profit
organization in the country, Eminent Life Care Foundation located at No 14
Akpasak Street, Off Ikot Okoro Road, Abak provided educational materials for
over 300 children.
Speaking shortly before presenting the
materials which included exercise books, pen and other teaching and learning
aids, Chairman of the Foundation, Barr. Cyprian Udosen said that the Foundation
has passion for encouragement of less privilege and orphans to attain their
educational career in life.
He said that the Foundation which has as
its centre focus “Anchoring supports for child educational success in Nigeria,”
will soon begin a scholarship scheme to provide more opportunities for
brilliant children who want to further their studies to do so.
While expressing appreciation to the
founder of the organization, sister Rosemary Udosen for having the interest of
children especially the less privileged at heart, he charged the beneficiaries
to make good use of the materials, noting that it would help them greatly in
life.
Barr. Udosen further used the occasion
to charge parents to train and take good care of their children as admonished
by the scriptures. He added that while teachers do their best to train children
in school, parents especially mothers have a greater role to train them as they
are the best teachers at home.
Also speaking at the event, Rev.
Akarandut Ibanga and Pastor Edikan Jacob commended the Foundation for providing
succor to the less privilege in the society and urged other organizations in
the country to do same to provide better future for the children.
They called on the beneficiaries to make
good use of the materials by studying hard. This, they said would be the only
way they can value the gesture.
Reacting, one of the parents to the
beneficiaries, Elder David James thanked the organization for the efforts made
to boost the education of their children. The visibly elated parent, expressed
optimism that the gesture will encourage the children to put in their best to
study hard to achieve their dream in life.
Another parent, Lady Agnes Umoh said
that the Foundation has given a renewed hope to the many children as they
prepare to resume school. She thanked the Foundation for the support.
Some of the beneficiaries, Talent Ben,
Promise Victor Edet, Emmanuel Nkereuwem Wilson, Augusta Patrick Isidore and
Rachael Godwin Sampson, expressed happiness for the gesture given by the
Foundation. They promised not to disappoint the Foundation and their parents.
