Newly Wedded A'Ibomite Reveals Reason To Delayed Marriage...Says Pandemic, Unemployment Mere Excuses
By UbongAbasi Ise
Talking from his experience, a newly married man, Mr. Ukeme Anwan, has advised young people in Akwa Ibom State that excuses for not marrying on right time owing to economic impact of Covid-19 pandemic, and lack of job creation by the government are no longer tenable for those wishing to settle to marital life.
In a chat with our correspondent recently, Mr. Anwan who tied nuptial knot with his heartthrob, former Miss Edima Akpan, at The Apostolic Church at Four Towns, Uyo on August 15, 2020, urged young people to come out from the shield and set the ball rolling in spite of the hard times facing them.
He said why it becomes difficult for young men to start the process of marriage mostly has to do with the mentality of their chosen partners that might not have the sustainable preparedness for marital life. According to him, 'There are women who are not ready to settle down so approaching them for marriage means effort in futility."
Anwan, who is passionate for activism, advised youths to totally forget about government for opportunities to generate enough wealth for marital rites and related requirements as this may bring delays.
"Lack of job is not actually the reason young people should not get married. God has blessed the young generation with innate ability to produce wealth but most young men do not realize this on time but they rely on a failed system called government. But I feel at this point that youths should, in totality, forget about government and create work for themselves. Once they can get rid of these fears they can set their target to settle down.
"I am hundred percent happy and fulfilled. There is no hard time in the calendar of God. Marriage is just being ready mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. At this point, God who instituted marriage will provide finances to carry it out. In a nutshell young men should not be afraid of setting the ball rolling once they are convinced they have found their missing rib," he said.
Mr. Ukeme Anwan further counted himself lucky to have found a godly and modest woman to make his wife while describing her as "the word wide best woman."
Anwan further sent special appreciation to all his friends who came out to grace their wedding ceremony and prayed for God's unending blessings upon all of those that honoured the occasion.
