2019: Udom Drops Moses Ekpo, May Pick Emmanuel Enoidem As Running Mate

There was wild jubilation yesterday in Abak Local Government Area when news filtered the air that Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel has dropped his current Deputy, Mr. Moses Ekpo as running mate in 2019 governorship election. 

The Sensor gathered that the decision to drop Mr. Ekpo and jubilation that followed may not be unconnected to the inability of the number two citizen to attract electoral value to the people of the area as well as touching their lives positively.

Some of the indigenes of the area who spoke with The Sensor said reasons for the expression of happiness are not far-fetched. 
According to one Ifiokobong Udeme, many people of Abak have not benefited from the Deputy Governor position.” He noted that the choice of Mr. Moses Ekpo was a wrong one for Abak people”. 
While calling on Governor Udom Emmanuel to still bring his running mate from Abak, he, however called on him to choose a young person that will have the goodwill of the people. 
Another indigene of Abak who gave his name simply as Imo, said unlike 2015 that Abak people unanimously voted for Governor Udom Emmanuel in particular and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in general, that would not be the same in 2019. 
He said that All Progressives Congress, APC, has a great followership in Abak because of Senator Godswill Akpabio and having Mr. Moses Ekpo as a running mate will be disastrous as PDP will fail woefully in the area.
He said, Mr. Ekpo has not followers due to his inability to give to the people. 
While also calling for the nomination of another Abak son to run with Udom, Imo noted that it will give the people confidence in PDP.
Meanwhile, there are indications that Governor Udom want to pick the PDP National Legal Adviser, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem as running mate. A source informed The Sensor that Barr. Enoidem is a well considered option that will help give the Party votes as he is said to be grounded and loved by the people of Abak five. 
The source said, “Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem is the only person that has the goodwill of Abak five. He identifies with the people and equally gives unlike the present Deputy who has a tight hand. 
But when contacted to confirm his choice as running mate to Governor Udom, Barr. Enoidem said that he was not aware of it.

Uwemedimo Nwoko, was in court on 22nd October 2020 to oppose the application. The matter was adjourned to 24th November 2020 for decisions to be taken on motions.
